Cassata.



One would think that turning flour, sugar, eggs, and half a stick of butter into cake would be easy.

Unfortunately it isn't.

This recipe was slightly challenging because I wanted to make my own sponge. I'm pretty pleased with the finish product though, and people told me it was delicious. The filling is a mixture of fresh ricotta, cream, sugar, and glace orange peel. It's frosted with whipped cream and white chocolate shavings.
