The first two tarts were made in a tiny apartment kitchen without baking pans or conventional measuring devices. I was especially proud of the kiwi tart, given that the electricity went out while I was in the middle of making vanilla pastry cream. I had to cover the pot and run it to my apartment ten minutes away in order to finish it! I think i'm finally getting the hang of pastry cream though.
I also ate fresh figs for the first time in my life. They were perfectly ripe, and heavenly.
